Get Rich Quick Christy Kunitzky

January 6 - January 30, 2016
Opening January 6

Get Rich Quick considers the relationship between gender, labour and material. The repetitive nature of the processes used to create the works is a reference to low paying types of labour associated with women, paralleling many instances of paid or legitimized labour but less likely to be rewarded. In turn, the implication of gender on materials affects the laborer or user in terms of pay, recognition, exploitation and health, clearing a material category that comes to define a class subject within its formal qualities.
